What is one of your career goals?
My biggest goal at this point in my career is to learn something new every day. I have experience in the residential side, but I am just now getting into the commercial and structural side. I want to fully understand the intent and purpose of the projects without the assistance of others
What advice would you give an aspiring designer?
Find a project you can follow from start to finish, including going to the field to see how things differ from on paper. Be willing to take on a challenge and ask questions. Find a team you are comfortable with to be able to bounce ideas off of and use for guidance when needed. Get as much exposure as possible in every area of the industry, understanding how all the pieces work together really makes a difference.
What are some of your passions or hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy being outdoors including hiking, kayaking and camping. I enjoy trying out new food recipes, playing with my 3 dogs, and crafting.
